Long Term Care: Home Care Information: Enrollment and Advocacy
ICAN, the Independent Consumer Advocacy Network, is the New York State Ombudsmen Program for people who need or are receiving long-term care services. They will answer questions about how to obtain long term care insurance, and how to solve problems once a client is receiving services. This includes contacting providers like home care agencies, nursing homes, doctors, hospitals, and pharmacies. In addition, they can file appeals and complaints on the client’s behalf.
