It is important for older persons and caregivers to know about patients’ rights. Participants will learn how to appeal a premature discharge or file a complaint about quality of care or a patient safety problem. This will include information on the new Medicare Outpatient Observation Status Notice requirements. Tools will be provided to help participants compare the quality of hospitals, doctors, nursing homes, or home care providers to select the best one to meet their needs.
